Inside front hinge is starting to split and some pages are working loose from sewn binding but textblock is basically tight. Brown boards are soiled, stained and scuffed. Spine and corners are bumped and frayed. All textblock edges are dust-soiled. Frontispiece, tissue protected, of author. A previous owner name on second free end page.

Quarter inch closed tear on Title page of Vol. II. Small hole bottom right first free end page. Frontispiece, tissue-protected is foxed. Previous owner's name on reverse of frontispiece, with frontispiece shadow. Brown boards are scuffed and stained. Corners are bumped and frayed. spine is bumped and frqayed with small tear at top and two inch separation at bottom.
